Hi, I’m Shelby

About Me

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals feel understood, supported, and empowered. I provide virtual therapy to clients across Texas and Hawaii, with a special passion for serving the military/first responder community, people navigating life transitions, and anyone seeking to strengthen their emotional well-being.

My path in social work has been shaped by diverse experiences, from earning my BSW at Stephen F. Austin State University, to completing my MSW at Fordham University, to working closely with service members and their families while living in Hawaii, and working in housing discrimination before opening my private practice.

My therapeutic style is eclectic and tailored to the unique needs of each person I work with. I like to say that first and foremost I am a relational therapist. I believe our relationship in the therapeutic space is the most important when it comes to your healing. I then blend evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other person-centered approaches. This flexibility allows me to honor your individual experiences while providing practical tools that create meaningful, sustainable change.

In my work, accessibility and authenticity matter. I aim to make therapy a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without judgment or pressure. Whether you’re managing anxiety, building confidence, processing stress, or learning healthier boundaries, my approach is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and strategies that meet you where you are.

If you’re ready to begin—or return to—your therapy journey, I’m here to walk alongside you.
